Peek and Skim

Picture
A new way to browse your images! You can now quickly Peek into the directory without opening the Thumbnails, just move your mouse near the top line.
If you then press and drag the mouse, you can perform fast skimming. Mouse wheel or two finger scroll (OSX) will also do the trick.

Drag and Drop
 [user request]

Picture
It is now possible to Move or Copy images from or into the current directory by Dragging and Dropping them from/into the Thumbnails. This will act much like the system's files browser (Explorer, Finder, Nautilus, etc).

Custom Backgrounds
 [user request]

Background Options
Now you can have a custom background for the viewer with many options to play with.

  • You can pick any image as background.
  • Mix both image and solid color, by adjusting the image opacity. If the image has transparency (like .png files) - it will also be respected.
  • You can make the image grayscale, to make it less distracting (and more cool).
  • Choose anchor point to stick the image to any edge, corner or the center of the window.
  • Choose tiling options.
  • Store your custom backgrounds.
  • Have separate backgrounds for Fullscreen and Window Mode, or link them to use the same settings.

OPEN GL

Picture
Fragment now uses OpenGL rendering
  • Massively improved image quality when image is scaled down*,
  • as well as overall responsiveness and animation smoothness.

OpenGL is also a prerequisite for many of the incoming features.

other features

  • Zooming in and out will always hit 25,50,100,200 and 400% zoom levels. [user idea]
  • Fragment will try to preserve the size of the image while browsing a zoomed image. This way if one has zoomed-in on a small image and moves to a big one, the on-screen image will not change its size to become enormous, it will simply render with higher quality. [user idea]
  • Image dimensions (with x height) are shown next to the image name on both the title bar and tooltips. This is a temporal solution until I implement metadata support. [user request]
